Cenote Angelita
This dive site is a pit-like open Cenote with a huge surface in the middle of the jungle, south of Tulum.
After our briefing, setup, and safety checks, we will descend into the depths of Cenote Angelita.
The slowly appearing setup and ambiance of this dive are truly unique and will let you create memories for life.
At around 30 meters in depth, you’ll find the impressive hydrogen-sulfide layer with a small island of organic debris and haunting trees reaching out of the smoke-like layer below.
Dropping down and seeing the view emerging from the depths and the curious light-play is something very special here, making many divers describe this Cenote as one of their favorite dives.
Our maximum dive depth here is 30 meters and we will slowly ascend during the dive circling around the walls of Cenote Angelita, admiring some speleothems, and enjoying the unique atmosphere during this dive.
Towards the end of the dive, we will do a safety stop before finally coming back to the surface.
Your guide will help you to exit the water and un-gear back at the truck.
We will change tanks immediately for our upcoming second dive at Cenote Carwash.
Cenote Carwash
Cenote Carwash is located some 10 minutes from Tulum Centre, very close to the road, which is why it’s called Carwash.
Years ago, this Cenote was actually used by the local taxi drivers, to wash their cars!
Its location, with a big open area and a high water level, made it perfect.
Nowadays nobody cleans their cars here anymore!
The waterlilies growing here make this place unique, and seasonally you can experience the tannic water layer which creates an amazing array of colors.
The dive leads through the open area as well as the cavern zone with lots of speleothems, some small bones, and pottery to admire to a maximum depth of 15 meters.
The unique view from inside the cavern towards the entry is something that burns into every diver’s mind once experienced.
The open water section of Cenote Carwash is decorated by beautiful and colorful water lilies, inhabited by several different species of fish and some turtles.
From time to time you can be lucky and find a crocodile visiting this Cenote temporarily –
but no worries – they keep their distance from divers and humans.

Snorkeling at Cenote Carwash
